Repeat Prescriptions

Please allow 48 hours (2 working days) for us to process your repeat medication requests. Ticked request can be placed in our box at reception.

Why not register to order your prescriptions online?

Ask a member of staff for details of registering for online services.

You can also manage repeat prescriptions from Ashton Gardens Surgery in the NHS App?

You can easily choose where your prescriptions are sent. So, if you know you'll be away from home or you are moving home, you can change your nominated pharmacy from within the app.

You can also order your prescription at any time that suits you. There’s no need to wait to join a telephone queue or wait until the GP surgery opens.

It’s easy to use, and, if you hit a snag, you can go to ‘Help’ in the top right-hand corner of the app or visit nhs.uk/helpmeapp.

Find out more about the NHS App at: www.nhs.uk/nhsapp

You can download a useful information leaflet: NHS App - Repeat Prescriptions - Leaflet

Nominating a pharmacy

You will need to choose a pharmacy to collect your prescription from. We call this nominating a pharmacy.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

  • Online, on the app or website where you order repeat prescriptions
  • At your GP practice
  • At any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

Medication reviews

If you have a repeat prescription, we may ask you to come in for a regular review. Please book a routine appointment for your review.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine or your prescription please contact the surgery.

Your local pharmacists can also answer any questions about your prescription. They can answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

  • Sore throats
  • Tummy trouble
  • Aches and pains

They can also advise on medicine that you can buy without a prescription.

Find a pharmacy

Many pharmacies are open until late and at weekends. You do not need an appointment.

Most pharmacies have a private room where you can discuss issues with pharmacy staff.
